The deal will expand MPC's reach to state and local governments, education and midsized commercial markets
MPC Computers LLC, a major supplier of computer hardware to federal agencies, will buy the End User division of Omni Tech Corp.
The deal will expand MPC's reach beyond the federal government. Omni Tech, also a computer hardware company, is strong in state and local government, education and midsized commercial markets.
The acquisition improves MPC's scale, the company said in announcing the acquisition. Its overall unit volume will rise, lowering the per-unit costs.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Omni Tech is based in Pewaukee, Wisc., while MPC, a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Gores Technology Group, is based in Nampa, Idaho. The company was previously called MicronPC.
