DigitalNet's JCON deal extended

DigitalNet will continue its work on the Justice Department's office infrastructure program.

The company announced this week the award of a blanket purchase agreement to continue work on the Justice Consolidated Office Network (JCON). The company won one of three agreements, which together total up to $100 million a year.

Under the agreement, Justice divisions can acquire information technology services such as network design, engineering solutions, implementation and integration, operations and technical support, and end-user and help desk support and training.

JCON allows the department's litigating, management and law enforcement divisions to exchange electronic data. The system encompasses about 71,000 users in 14 divisions in the department.

The department may reopen the work to competition after five years, but the agreement also could extend up to 15 years, DigitalNet officials said.

DigitalNet's team includes BearingPoint Inc., Connectivity Inc., Edwards Industries LLC, IBM Business Consulting Services, Science Applications International Corp., SI International Inc. and Technical and Management Resources Inc.
