SAIC names Dahlberg CEO
Kenneth Dahlberg has been an executive vice president at General Dynamics.
Science Applications International Corp. has named a former General Dynamics Corp. executive vice president as its new chief executive officer.
Kenneth Dahlberg will replace SAIC founder J. Robert Beyster, 78, as CEO and chairman of SAIC's board. Beyster will finish his term on the board, which expires next July.
Dahlberg will officially become CEO of SAIC Nov. 3, which last year had the second-largest share of the federal government market for systems integrators, according to Eagle Eye Publishers Inc.
He joined General Dynamics in 2001 and served as executive vice president of General Dynamics' information systems and technology group since 2001.
"We believe that Ken Dahlberg has the leadership qualities needed in a CEO to execute our strategic vision for the SAIC of the future," Beyster said in a statement. "He has demonstrated to the board that he has the understanding and appreciation of how important our employee-ownership culture is to SAIC and its employees."
Dahlberg will be based in San Diego.
"I'm extremely honored that SAIC's Board of Directors appointed me to lead the company," Dahlberg said. "SAIC is legendary in the industry."
