Lockheed Martin, ACS trade business units
Lockheed also won a $600 million contract from the Air Force.
Lockheed Martin Corp. has completed its acquisition of the federal government information technology businesses of Affiliated Computer Services Inc. At the same time, Lockheed Martin sold its commercial IT units to ACS.
Officials at Lockheed Martin estimate their new federal presence will increase 2004 sales by about $400 million, accounting for its divestiture of the commercial IT business. The company is changing the name of its Technology Services business area to Information and Technology Services.
Lockheed Martin officials also announced the have won a $600 million contract to support the Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency with managed services and classified voice, video and data assistance.
AFPCA supports about 7,500 Defense Department users in the Washington, D.C., region. The contract win is not connected to the ACS business unit, a Lockheed Martin spokesman said.
