D'Amato joins IT firm

Daniel D'Amato, a 30-year veteran of federal technology contracting, has joined AlphaInsight Corp. as vice president of its security solutions division.

D'Amato was most recently manager of Unisys Corp.'s federal information security practice, according to AlphaInsight officials. He has also worked for Xerox Corp., General Electric Co., TASC Inc. and Veridian Corp. Before moving to the private sector, he worked for the U.S. Army in its satellite communications operations.

AlphaInsight recently developed Portal X for the State Department. The Web-based communications system greatly improved the department's ability to get information quickly to diplomats and employees in far-flung foreign postings.
