Fed Sources gets new COO

Joe Caggiano is a veteran of Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Andersen, WR Grace and Pfizer.

Federal Sources Inc. has hired Joe Caggiano, a veteran of Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Andersen, WR Grace and Pfizer Inc., as its chief operating officer.

The market research firm has undergone some changes since the Washington Management Group acquired it this fall. FSI chief executive officer Jim Kane left the firm in early December, and WMG president and CEO William Gormley took over as FSI president.

Caggiano will oversee all operational and financial activities at FSI, including the consulting, database and event lines of business, according to FSI officials. He has more than 18 years of management, sales and business development experience, most recently at Deloitte.

Caggiano "has an impressive record of building business and increasing efficiency," said Gormley, in a statement. "His experience and leadership will be highly beneficial to our customers and critical to our future success."

Gormley was previously assistant commissioner for the Office of Acquisition at the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Service.
