SRA to buy Orion

A small company that specializes in counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and law enforcement services and technologies will soon become part of SRA International Inc.

SRA officials today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Orion Scientific Systems Inc., based in Newport Beach, Calif. Orion, with about 205 employees, provides analytical support, training, system development and knowledge management.

The acquisition will provide cross-selling opportunities for both companies, said Ernst Volgenau, SRA's chief executive officer and chairman, in announcing the agreement.

The transaction will include cash and stock, but the companies did not disclose specific terms.
