GTSI gets marketing officer

Scot Edwards was hired for the job.

Technology reseller GTSI Corp. has hired a new chief marketing officer.

Scot Edwards, who has two decades of experience marketing technology products, will report to John Spotila, GTSI's president and chief operating officer, company officials said.

"Scot comes to GTSI with an in-depth understanding of our industry, our vendors and our customers," Spotila said in a statement. "He has implemented innovative marketing and branding programs and will help drive our new 'I Rely on GTSI' campaign. We are excited to add him to our executive team."

Edwards' career before GTSI includes senior roles at Epson America Inc., Lexmark International Inc., Peak Technologies, Altec Lansing Technologies Inc. and Xyan.com. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of ReturnBuy/Jabil Global Services, an asset management, supply chain management and direct marketing technology company formed when Jabil Circuit Inc.'s global services division acquired the bankrupt ReturnBuy Inc. in 2003.
