The Enterprise Grid Alliance focuses on grid computing at the enterprise level
The Enterprise Grid Alliance focuses on grid computing at the enterprise level, which differentiates it from other standards groups that address broader issues of grid computing.
To make near-term solutions commercially available, alliance officials believe developers should emphasize:
Computing in and between enterprise data centers, rather than setting up desktop-based grids.
Taking advantage of existing enterprise components, such as storage, servers, databases,
networks and management frameworks.
Computing within or between corporations or government agencies.
Deploying grid applications that enterprises can use to run their businesses, rather than focusing on scientific computing or research applications.
