Robbins-Gioia brings Shelton onboard

Gen. Hugh Shelton, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has joined Robbins-Gioia LLC's board of directors.

Shelton, who led the Joint Chiefs under the Clinton and current Bush administrations, worked to improve the military's readiness and retention, while developing a road map for the future of the armed forces, according to Robbins-Gioia officials.

"We are tremendously honored that someone of Gen. Shelton's stature has agreed to join our board," said Jim Leto, Robbins-Gioia's president and chief executive officer, in a written statement. "He brings invaluable experience from his many years overseeing the military's $300 billion-plus budget and several hundred thousand employees."

"I am pleased to join the Robbins-Gioia board of directors," Shelton said in a statement. "I have always been impressed with Robbins-Gioia's work on behalf of their clients, and believe my experience will reinforce and enhance [the company's] already considerable presence in the federal government. I look forward to contributing to the company's success."

The firm recently announced that it is being acquired by the Institute for International Research, a holding company with businesses scattered worldwide.
