Aiming alien PCs at feds
A company best known for gaming PCs is turning its attention to the serious business of selling to the government.
Maybe FBI agent Fox Mulder of "The X-Files" would order one of these for his office.
Alienware, best known for high-end gaming computers styled to resemble aliens as portrayed in movies and TV shows, has made its hardware available to federal agencies. The company recently won a General Services Administration schedule contract, and officials there are trying to enter the new market.
Officials are releasing a low-end PC priced under $600, in hopes of luring government and consumer buyers to the company's catalog. The Windows XP machine features a Celeron processor and 256 MB of memory.
