CSC, Raytheon win patent system contracts
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded systems development and integration services contracts worth up to $500 million.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded two systems development and integration services contracts potentially worth about $500 million to Computer Sciences Corp. and Raytheon Technical Services.
The CSC contact is for $280 million; the Raytheon award is for $251 million. Both award notices were posted Dec. 17 on the FedBizOpps Web site.
The companies will provide systems development and integration services for the USPTO's chief information officer, who is responsible for more than 120 information systems applications. USPTO is evolving toward Linux, J2EE/Java and IBM WebSphere software development environment.
Chuck Taylor, director of communications for CSC's federal sector business, said CSC currently has a systems development contract with USPTO. "It was a recompete we wanted to win," he said.
