Computer Sciences Corp. officials have created a new division for managed services within the company's federal sector business unit.
Called the Applied Technology Division, most of the new organization consists of what had been the DynCorp Technical Services unit, which came to CSC with its acquisition of DynCorp in 2003. CSC agreed to sell some other DynCorp divisions to Veritas Capital in December 2004 for about $850 million in cash and stock.
The ATD consolidates and integrates federal operations that provide managed engineering services. It has about 8,300 employees.
Lawrence Hare, who joined CSC in February 2004, has been named president of the ATD, and will report directly to CSC federal sector president Paul Cofoni.
