GST buys TMC
Company officials say they can expand their combined business base in NOAA and NASA.
Information technology contractor Global Science & Technology has acquired TMC Technologies, according to officials at both firms.
Global Science & Technology, a Greenbelt, Md., company founded in 1991 and listed as a small, disadvantaged business, provides science and engineering services and counts NASA, the Air Force and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration among its long-time customers.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“This acquisition provides an excellent opportunity to bring two companies together, expanding their combined business base within NOAA and NASA,” said Chieh-san Cheng, president of GST.
By consolidating core capabilities, Global Science and TMC will be strategically positioned to pursue larger contracts, Cheng said. TMC is now a subsidiary of Global Science, and TMC president Wade Linger continues in that role. TMC, whose headquarters is in Fairmont, W. Va., has offices in North Carolina and Colorado.
Linger said that access to Global Science & Technology's infrastructure, existing contract vehicles and management support will help TMC compete for larger and longer-term contracts.
“This is great news for Fairmont and West Virginia,” he said. “GST and TMC can now pool our resources and create more opportunities to grow our West Virginia workforce at a faster pace than ever before.”
TMC, founded in 1996, has 60 employees with about $10 million a year in revenues. GST brings in about $40 million a year.
