Anteon revenue grows

The company also hired more people in the first quarter.

Anteon International officials reported a spurt today in hiring during the first quarter, as the company posted revenue and earnings gains.

The integrator's first-quarter revenue increased 21.5 percent to $350 million compared with $288.2 million for the same period last year. The company generated organic revenue growth of $17.1 percent. Earnings per share, meanwhile, grew 33.3 percent to $0.48 compared with $0.36 last year. The company generated $443 million in new business during the quarter.

Dan Johnson, Anteon’s chief operating officer, said the company gained 350 employees during the quarter. The pace of hiring, Anteon officials said, exceeds the company’s historical rate. The development of a Naval Air Depot contract in February contributed to the staff increases.

Johnson said the growth in labor reinforces the company’s confidence in its ability to grow organically. A number of integrators grow significantly through acquisition.

Anteon’s total number of employees has passed the 9,000 mark, said Joseph Kampf, the company’s president and chief executive officer.
