FDIC picks tech services quartet
Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, Lockheed Martin and Pragmatics will compete for task orders under a $550 million contract with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Four companies will vie for up to $550 million in business from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. under a multiple-award contract. The contract is for information technology application services.
The four contractors are Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM and Pragmatics. They will compete for task orders under the 10-year contract.
Pragmatics, less known than the other prime contractors, is a minority-owned small business. The company has achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration rating of 3. The CMMI scale measures the level of organization and efficiency in an organization’s processes, and runs from 1 to 5.
Long Nguyen, chief executive officer of Pragmatics, said the CMMI rating and the company’s certification as an ISO 9001:2000 organization, are paying off for the company. Pragmatics also recently made the Army's short list for the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services contract.
"We believe our large investment in process improvement and in-depth experience developing high-quality, enterprise-level applications will provide long term value to the FDIC," Nguyen said.
