SAIC awards purchase agreement to CDW-G, Collins
The deal means that the greater volume SAIC buys through the agreements, the greater a discount the company receives.
Science Applications International Corp. has made master purchase agreements with CDW Government and CDW-G's partner, Collins Consulting. The agreements mean that SAIC will issue purchase orders for information technology solutions to Collins, a small business and member of CDW-G's Small Business Partner Consortium.
SAIC officials entered into the agreements following a competitive process. The agreements last for three years. SAIC could spend as much as $32 million annually with Collins, which in turn will use CDW-G's e-commerce, service and distribution capabilities to support the fulfillment of the orders.
The agreements will allow SAIC to lock in savings for three years in a tiered discount structure. It means that the greater volume SAIC buys through the agreements, the greater a discount the company receives.
“It is SAIC's procurement practice to implement, and wherever possible, exceed the spirit and intent of the government's small business program objectives,” said Kristine Petka, assistant vice president and director of strategic spend management at SAIC. “We are eager to help small businesses grow, and this contract allows us to integrate them into the process and provide the best prices to our customers at the same time.”
“We are excited to enter into this leading-edge agreement with SAIC,” said Jim Shanks, president of CDW-G. “Integrating the Small Business Partner Consortium into this agreement is a win for everyone."
