Netcordia Teams With Galaxy Scientific
Galaxy will include Netcordia's network analysis appliance in its own product portfolio.
Netcordia has formed a partnership with Galaxy Scientific in a bid to accelerate the growth of its network-analysis tools in the government market. The companies announced the arrangement today.
Under the agreement, Galaxy Scientific will include Netcordia’s NetMRI product line in its portfolio. Galaxy Scientific will also work with Information Technology Solutions (ITS), a Netcordia reseller. Galaxy will source Netcordia’s products through ITS.
Netcordia’s NetMRI is a network-analysis appliance that collects and analyzes data from network devices and interfaces, IP routes, virtual private networks and wireless access points, among other areas.
Prior to the formal alliance, Galaxy, ITS and Netcordia collaborated on a deployment with the Army’s 35th Signal Brigade, stationed in Iraq. The brigade has purchased three NetMRI appliances, said Terry Slattery, chief executive officer and founder of Netcordia.
Galaxy’s government presence will expand the military and civilian agency market for Netcordia, according to the company. The company cited Galaxy’s prime contract with the Army’s Communications-Electronics Command Rapid Response Project Office as an example of its market reach.
Netcordia may also get better access to SRA International through the Galaxy alliance. SRA plans to acquire Galaxy, but Slattery said he has not spoken to anyone at SRA about the possibility of extending the partnership into the larger company.
