Remember the Sasser worm? It didn't wreak that much havoc on federal systems last year, but it did impact many computers. And the virus/worm issue seems to have calmed down significantly. And maybe feds and others are more security conscience. Today, however, we just seem to have patch-mania to deal with.
Anyway... a German court has convinced the creator of the worm... although he gets a suspended sentence of one year and nine months.

VERDEN, Germany - The teenager who created the "Sasser" computer worm that created havoc as it raced around the world last year was convicted Friday on charges including computer sabotage and given a suspended sentence, a court official said.
