HyperSpace acquisition of MPC is completed

HyperSpace Communications has completed its acquisition of MPC Computers. The deal was closed earlier this week.

The newly combined company, building on the strengths brought by each of its component firms, will develop software to accelerate Web and client/server applications. MPC designs and builds desktop and laptop computers, servers, and storage devices, and offers a range of related services.

MPC is now a wholly owned subsidiary of HyperSpace. Mike Adkins, MPC's chief executive officer since 2001, will continue to lead the firm. John Yeros, founder and chairman of HyperSpace, will continue his leadership role there.

MPC's 2004 revenues totaled $428 million, but the company logged a $6.2 million net loss for the year.

"MPC Computers has a great track record of serving customers in government, education and business, and we look forward to its continued success, as a part of HyperSpace Communications. MPC is a tremendous platform in which to aggregate technology."
