Opening CRS reports

Having now actually read the WSJ's Washington Wire column myself [subscription required], in addition to the item about the FBI, there was this interesting tidbit:

OPEN RECORDS: Congress resists public release of reports by the Congressional Research Service, which provides background material on public issues for lawmakers. But the Center for Democracy and Technology, along with libraries and groups like the Federation of American Scientists, has posted some reports on a new site, www.opencrs.com, and seeks others. "CRS gets $100 million in taxpayer funding each year, so why shouldn't taxpayers get access?" asks Ari Schwartz of CDT.
