BearingPoint wins NAVAIR pact
Integrator wins $4 million award to provide technical and advisory services to the Naval Air systems Command's depot in Cherry Point, N.C.
BearingPoint on Tuesday said it has been awarded a contract to provide technical and advisory services to the Naval Air Systems Command’s depot in Cherry Point, N.C.
The task order was awarded through a blanket purchase agreement administered by NAVAIR’s PMA-203 program. BearingPoint is one of three prime contractors that hold that deal. The contract is valued at up to $4 million.
Under the contract, BearingPoint will provide consulting services to NAVAIR Depot Cherry Point’s AIRSpeed Office. That office is charged with improving depot processes through such methodologies as Six Sigma.
The integrator will deploy an integrated process improvement approach throughout the depot.
A BearingPoint spokesman said the company has been working with NAVAIR Depot Cherry Point for the past six years on various business process improvement projects and implementations. He said the current contract could lead to additional work in the future related to similar implementations.
BearingPoint’s subcontractors on the depot task include The Titan Corp. and Optiprise.
NAVAIR Depot Cherry Point is one of three Navy depots under NAVAIR jurisdiction. The depot performs airframe modifications and repair for such aircraft as the AV-8B Harrier and the H-53D Sea Stallion helicopter, according to the Navy.
