Solidcore pursues government resellers

Solidcore Systems is forging alliances with resellers as it expands its effort in the government market.

The company develops software that monitors changes to servers and prevents unauthorized code from running on them. Solidcore launched a public sector division in July and has since moved to bolster its roster of partners.

The company this week announced Alliance Micro as its latest reseller ally. The service-disabled, veteran-owned small business will resell Solidcore’s products and offer integration and training services. Alliance Micro will sell Solidcore’s products through its General Services Administration and other vehicles.

Shannon Williams, Solidcore’s director of channel marketing, said the company also maintains government-oriented reseller arrangements with AltaTek, Federal Technology Solutions and NH&A. He said the company plans to recruit additional government resellers.

Solidcore’s product line includes S3 Change Control and S3 Security. S3 Change Control reconciles approved changes with deployed changes, validates changes as authorized modifications before they are deployed, and records all authorized changes. S3 Security establishes an authorized code base and prevents unauthorized code from running on a protected system, according to the company.

John Sebes, Solidcore’s chief technology officer and general manager of the public sector, said government customers have influenced the young company’s product direction. Solidcore was founded in 2002. A military customer, for example, convinced Solidcore to deal with change control and security in a coordinated manner, he said.

“That’s the biggest point of guidance we’ve taken from that market so far,” Sebes said.
