SRA to provide IT services for Air Force recon operations
The integrator will partner with a not-for-profit institute to support the system that processes intelligence and surveillance data, along with supporting other air, space and ground systems.
SRA International has captured a $10.5 million task order to provide information technology services to the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for air and space operations.
The project, which spans up to five years, will support the planning, management and maintenance of aircraft operation systems, and air, space and ground systems. The task order award came through the General Services Administration schedule.
SRA will also provide technical services for researching and analyzing the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS). The service awarded a contract to Raytheon in 2003 to build the DCGS network, which processes intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) data gathered by aircraft.
SRA will examine other ISR-related systems under its Air Force task order, according to the company. Services will include engineering support for ISR airborne and ground systems, and communications engineering for the DCGS network.
SRA will bring the Riverside Research Institute into the project as a partner. The not-for-profit institute’s services include systems engineering, operations and maintenance support, and program support. The institute counts the Air Force, NASA and the National Institutes of Health among its customers.
