With Safavian's departure, the focus turns to who could be the next OFPP administrator.
In terms of agenda, there are some obvious issues: guide the reorganization of the General Services Administration, further hone procurement reform, deal with procurement workforce issues... there is a lot on the to-do list. And then there is the big unknown question about the potential departure of Rep. Tom Davis, which seems less and less likely with each passing week.
Many of us were hopeful that Safavian would help bring some focus on procurement issues. One hopes that it won't take as long to get a new OFPP nominee as it did to get Safavian in place.
