Software maker seeks federal alliances
Softricity has already had some contracting successes, and is looking to reach a wider base of potential customers through partnerships.
Softricity, a Boston-based software vendor, is forging alliances with federal channel partners, most recently linking with MPC Government.
The company launched its federal sales operation in March. Since then the company has cultivated relationships with resellers and integrators. The company does not plan to create a direct sales model, said Christopher Hutto, director of federal sales at Softricity.
Softricity’s SoftGrid product lets organizations deliver applications as services that can be centrally managed and deployed to a user’s desktop on an on-demand basis.
Last month, Softricity inked a deal with MPC-G regarding its Procurement of Computer Hardware and Software 2 contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Other Softricity partners include GTSI, Apptis and Emergent OnLine.
GTSI also carries Softricity on its PCHS-2 contract. The Apptis deal, meanwhile, involves that company’s Army Netcom contract among other vehicles. Emergent OnLine holds Softricity’s General Services Administration schedule.
Hutto said Softricity, through its partners, has been able to close deals in Defense Department, the Veterans Affairs Department, and the intelligence community. He said the company plans to add additional partners, but will limit its federal channel roster to avoid over saturating the market.
