Thom Rubel joins Input

Former Meta Group VP to consult on state and local government issues.

Thom Rubel, former vice president of government strategies at Meta Group, has joined Input to help consult on state and local governments.

“Thom’s exceptional insight to the state and local market is a great addition to the Input Consulting Group,” said Alan Balutis, president and chief executive officer for government strategies at Input, in a press release.

While at Meta, Rubel, who has more than 20 years of public sector experience, helped state and local governments understand how technology could help improve their operations.

He joined Meta after a stint with the National Governors Association’s Center for Best Practices as director of the state information technology program. He also served as NGA’s director of economic development and commerce policy studies and the director of transportation programs.

In the federal government, he served as assistant under secretary for small community and rural development at the Agriculture Department and deputy director of intergovernmental and consumer affairs at the Transportation Department.
