Bates joins Ciena advisory board
The former FTS commissioner joins three other board members.
Network technology company Ciena has added another experienced hand to its Government Advisory Board, which it formed in June 2005. Sandra Bates, former commissioner of the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service, has joined it.
Bates, busy since her retirement from GSA in February 2005, is also an executive consultant at Topside Consulting.
Ciena formed the advisory board last summer, along with its Ciena Government Solutions subsidiary, to guide the company in winning government business. Other board members are:
