Overseeing the (cookie) overseers

Yes, more cookies... but this time it is just a tad bit of oversight of the overseers.

Finally yesterday, I got around to calling the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee yesterday to ask why the committe's Web site uses persistent cookies. (I noticed the cookies earlier last year, but didn't get around to posting about it until late last month.)

Then I clicked over there today and... presto! ... no more cookies!

It is important to note that Congress is a seperate branch of government that does not fall under the E-Government Act nor policies of the Office of Management and Budget, but...

So, kudos to the committee.

Now all they need is a privacy policy.
