Actix buys German network firm
Radioplan provides software for automated network optimization.
Actix, a Virginia-based firm specializing in wireless network performance engineering solutions, has acquired Radioplan GmbH. Radioplan, based in Dresden, Germany, provides automated network optimization software.
According to Actix, products developed from the two companies' technologies combined will provide a comprehensive solution for performance optimization that will lead to significant network cost reductions.
"Actix and Radioplan products are a natural fit," said Actix chief executive officer Dave Wilkinson in a written statement. "Like us, Radioplan automates key wireless engineering processes to realize potentially huge reductions in the cost of engineering wireless networks."
The acquisition also gives Actix a European base for potential expansion, Wilkinson added.
Actix is a privately held company. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
