Apogen buys security firm
The company has acquired QinetiQ Trusted Information Management.
Apogen Technologies has acquired QinetiQ Trusted Information Management (QTIM), which has a security assessment and assurance service.
The acquisition took place within the umbrella of QinetiQ, a defense technology company based in the United Kingdom. Apogen merged with QinetiQ last year to become a subsidiary of QinetiQ North America. QTIM has operated as a business unit of QinetiQ North America since 2002.
Apogen’s acquisition will provide the security firm with the ability to pursue wider business opportunities in the federal and commercial sectors, according to an Apogen spokeswoman.
QTIM’s Total Security Health Check service incorporates results penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and other measures to generate a report detailing an organization’s information security health. The service will be sold through the Apogen Services group, the spokeswoman said.
