SI International will acquire Zen Technology for $60 million in cash.
SI International has inked a deal to acquire Zen Technology, an information technology contractor.
The integrator will pay $60 million in cash for Zen Technology, which is based in Bethesda, Md. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of this year.
Zen Technology’s client roster includes the Missile Defense Agency, the Defense Department’s Washington Headquarters Services, the Federal Communications Commission, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. and the Federal Trade Commission. About half the company’s 275 employees hold clearances of secret or higher.
SI’s last acquisition was a year ago, when the company purchased Shenandoah Electronic Intelligence.
Zen Technology focuses on areas such as managed network services, information assurance, software development and systems engineering, database and systems administration, and IT consulting. The company’s contract vehicles include a General Services Administration professional services schedule and the Commerce Department’s COMMITS NexGen contract.
In other company news, SI said it expects 2006 revenue of $470 million to $476 million and net income of $19.5 million to $20 million. The company’s 2006 fiscal year began Jan. 1. The guidance includes the expected contribution of the pending Zen Technology acquisition, according to the company.
