State Sen. Carole Migden is asking the California Legislature to designate Zinfandel as California's official state wine. "It's about time that we give it the recognition it deserves," she said in a Feb. 9 news release. Others like the idea, but say zin isn't the way to go. And some say a California native like steam beer would be better.
