Eagle Broadband gets new distributor for emergency system
First responders are part of the target market for the Alpha Emergency Communications System.
World Communication Center, a provider of satellite voice and data communications, has signed an agreement to distribute Eagle Broadband's Alpha Emergency Communications System and other products to emergency responders.
Eagle Broadband’s Satellite Media Access Extender (SatMAX) offering includes three products for voice and data communications in environments where establishing a line-of-sight connection is impossible. Two of the products are portable, and one requires a rack mount.
The SatMAX systems use Iridium satellite technology.
“Due to last year’s hurricane season, many first responders realize the urgent need for emergency systems that aren’t dependent on traditional telecommunication connections such as landlines or cellular systems,” said Dave Micek, Eagle Broadband’s president and chief executive officer, in a written statement. "The SatMAX Alpha product solves these problems and allows for the flexibility to be inside a building while maintaining a satellite voice connection.”
