SI, Orizon strike mentor-protg pact
The agreement expands SI's offerings to the State Department, while boosting Orizon's recruiting and business development skills.
The State Department has approved a mentor-protg agreement between SI International and Orizon, an 8(a) company.
The arrangement will expand the range of information technology and network services SI International offers to State, while providing Orizon help with its recruiting techniques, marketing tools, business development processes and proposal writing, according to the companies.
Orizon, based in Rockville, Md., holds prime contracts with customers including the State, Housing and Urban Development, and Treasury departments.
SI International also maintains a presence at State. Earlier this year, the company announced an $84 million contract to manage and operate the National Visa Center (NVC) and Kentucky Consular Center. The company has been prime contractor on the NVC program since 1994.
The Orizon pact is the second mentor-protg agreement SI International has announced in the last 5 months. In November, the company announced a mentor-protg agreement with iDoxSolutions, which was approved by the Department of Homeland Security. The companies pursue records management opportunities under that arrangement.
