The Army awarded nine contracts with a total value of $5 billion to equip the service with desktop and mobile computers over the next decade.

CDW-G, Dell and Hewlett-Packard won the large-business awards under the Army Desktop and Mobile Computing-2 (ADMC-2) contract, which the Program Executive Office-Enterprise Information Systems’ (PEO-EIS) Army Small Computer Program manages.

Integration Technologies Group, MPC-G, NCS Technologies, Telos, Transource Computer and Westwood Computer won the ADMC-2 small-business contracts.

ADMC-2 is a follow on to the $300 million ADMC-1 contract held by Apptis, CDW-G, Dell, iGOV, GTSI, Insight Public Sector, Intelligent Decisions and MPC-G.

“ADMC-2 is an important follow-on procurement for the Army,” said Kevin Carroll, program executive officer for PEO-EIS. “It provides desktops and laptops that focus on DOD and Army specific requirements and standards.”

Carroll added the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity ADMC-2 contract “will continue to allow the smaller customers of the successful Army Small Computer Program to combine their needs with the commodity buying power of larger customers to take advantage of deeper discounts.”

The ADMC-2 contracts will be the Army’s primary source for commercial desktops, notebooks, ruggedized and semi-ruggedized devices, printers, and peripherals. Services offered under the contract include installation, asset tagging, imaging, site surveys, and system configuration.

The Army plans to award a $10 billion contact for servers, storage devices and networking gear later this year, and will hold an industry day for its Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Hardware contract May 10.

Earlier this month, the Army awarded its $20 billion ITES-2 Services contracts to 11 bidders that will compete for task orders on that vehicle. ITES-2S contractors are Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI-ISS, Computer Sciences Corp., EDS, General Dynamics, IBM, Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Science Applications International Corp. Apptis, STG and QSS won ITES-2S small-business contracts.
