CACI aims to rebound growth

The company expects to return to its goals in its next fiscal year.

CACI International reported March quarter revenue growth of slightly less than 5 percent, but the company expects to return to its growth goal of 20 percent in its next fiscal year.

The integrator’s revenue for the quarter grew 4.9 percent to $435.4 million from $414.9 million a year ago. Net income was $21.4 million, or $0.69 diluted earnings per share, a 5.4 percent rise from last year’s $20.3 million, or $0.66 diluted earnings per share.

Jack London, CACI’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, said recent acquisitions and contract awards will boost growth in fiscal 2007, which begins July 1 for the company. A pickup in funding following the delayed signing last year of the Defense appropriations bill also contributes to growth prospects in fiscal 2007, he added.

“The fundamentals are in place,” London said. “We need to execute and make sure we don’t drop anything.”

CACI completed the acquisition of Information Systems Support in March and expects its merger with AlphaInsight to be effective May 1. Those transactions follow the company’s purchase last fall of National Security Research.

As for contract awards, CACI won one of four large company slots on the Army’s $19 billion Strategic Services Sourcing pact in March. The company also won one of two prime contracts on the Army’s $450 million Engineering, Technical and Operations Support Services program.

This month, CACI captured one of eight large business awards under the Army’s $20 billion Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services vehicle and a $49 million award to continue its program management support work with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
