I'm not a businessman. I'm a journalist. But as a journalist, we always believe that if you provide content that is valuable to people, the revenues will follow. Using that model, if GSA provides service that is valuable to its clients, it seems that revenues will follow. But what do I know. I'm not a businessman!
I got another note from somebody who works at GSA, who asked for his/her name to be withheld for obvious reasons. But this person adds to what we have ready been hearing:
In its present state, GSA will have difficulty attracting the talent it needs to make positive changes, not based on revenue alone, and evolve into the agency it needs to be to assist federal, state and local agencies in accomplishing their missions in the 21st century. Now is the time for GSA to look at its policies, processes, etc., and make changes consistent with customer service and acquisition compliance, keeping in mind that the two are not mutually exclusive.
