BearingPoint to assist in San Diego IT management

Northrop Grumman has awarded a contract that could be worth up to $74 million to BearingPoint for management of information technology and telecommunications services in California's San Diego County.

Northrop Grumman won the seven-year contract in January. Valued at a total of $667 million, the contract calls for data center, help desk, desktop, network, applications and cross-functional services. BearingPoint will lead application services development and implementation efforts in the areas of finance, general government, land use, environment, and community services, according to a BearingPoint announcement.

"This project is set to reduce costs and improve the county's use of technology to significantly increase citizen services over the coming years," said Cathy Pomanti, senior vice president for BearingPoint's State and Local Government business segment, in a statement.
