FCW.com getting a face lift
If all goes well, beginning... well, any time now, you will get to see the new online face of Federal Computer Week. We will be launching a new Web page redesign. This has been in the works for some time, as you can imagine. Somehow these things never go quite as quickly as you want them to.
Those wonderful marketing folks refer to what we're doing as a 'soft' launch. That means we are not 'officially' saying that we have a new Web site until the May 29 issue of Federal Computer Week. We have given ourself a week window just in case the whole thing comes crashing down.
Our goal is that the new site will make the information you want easier to find. Like the magazine, the Web site will have four different sections: policy, technology, management, and business. On those pages, you will be able to fine news, features and source documents related to those subjects.
The over all goal is to just be more agile online. Our goal is for this to be the last wholesale resdesign of our Web site that we have to do because the site will evolve.
As always, let us know what you think... is there something that you like better? something that got worse? something that you read regularly that you can't find now?
