A grand time.
Government and industry technology leaders mingled and dined June 7 at the American Electronics Association’s annual Technology for Government Dinner at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. About 550 information technology leaders rubbed shoulders at the event hosted by AeA’s board of directors, who said they spent their early hours that same day making lobbying visits to Capitol Hill and the White House. Dinner speaker James Balsillie, chairman and co-chief executive officer of Research in Motion, thanked federal chief information officers for their leadership in adopting innovative technologies, including, of course, the RIM BlackBerry. No “please turn off your BlackBerries” before this speaker began his spiel.
