DynCorp moves headquarters to Northern Virginia

DynCorp International, a provider of technical services to government agencies, relocated its executive offices Aug. 31 to Falls Church, Va. The company was previously based in Irving, Texas, but had several executive functions in Northern Virginia.

The federal government is DynCorp's largest customer.

A company statement said the transfer is not expected to affect employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where DynCorp employs approximately 600 people.

DynCorp Chairman Robert McKeon first discussed the transfer in an investor conference call July 18 while introducing the company’s new chief executive officer, Herbert Lanese. Lanese will work primarily at the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area office, the statement said.

“It's important to have the very senior leadership in Washington close to our customers," McKeon said.

DynCorp has more than 14,000 employees in 33 countries. It reported revenues of nearly $2 billion in fiscal 2006, which ended March 31.
