Is DOD aware of search engine's archiving?

A recent investigative report on television addressed that Internet search tool "Goggles." The report states that "Goggles" maintains a life history of its visitors' use of its search tools. It then develops customer profiles for the purpose of selling them to the highest bidder. In California, legislation was introduced to restrict the sale of such information. However, "Goggles" went on the offensive and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get special consideration and an exemption from the law.

I have a high degree of concern regarding this matter as a federal worker and whether the Defense Department is aware of this, and to what degree security would be affected by such action by "Goggles."
