Is PR that difficult?

First off, I have a bit of history with Apptis back when the company was called PlanetGov. Back in the Web days, I was the technology reporter for the PlanetGov online news site. It was a site headlined by , who wrote for the Washington Post for 30 years and now is over at here in Washington, D.C.

I mentioned yesterday about Steve Baldwin at Apptis stepping down very suddenly.

The company sent out this release today:

Apptis, Inc., today announced the appointment of Rene LaVigne as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company in connection with Steve W. Baldwin stepping down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Apptis.

"I want to personally thank Steve Baldwin for his leadership and service to this company," said Rene LaVigne. "Steve helped lead the company through a number of acquisitions and a high-growth period that leaves us well poised for continued growth and success."

LaVigne is now responsible for corporate strategy, operations, business development and sales for Apptis, which currently operates in six countries.

The Company also announced that it has expanded its Board of Directors to include Bert Notini, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Sonus Networks.

"Apptis is a dynamic company that is delivering innovative solutions to the marketplace and I am honored to be joining the Board of Directors at this exciting time," said Bert Notini. "I believe 2007 will be another strong growth year for the company and know that Rene and the rest of the executive team will continue to lead with an unwavering commitment to meeting client needs."
