Amend the Fed 100 nomination process
I commend Federal Computer Week for continuing to recognize the contributions of professionals to the federal information technology arena through the Federal 100 Awards. However, I noticed a disconcerting occurrence associated with six civil service awardees for 2007 -- they appear to have been nominated by contractors who had contracts with their respective agencies. This situation truly presents the appearance, if not the actual fact, of conflict of interest and of course doesn't reflect well on the federal employee. I suggest for the 2008 awards that the guidelines to the judges clearly indicate this situation as an immediate disqualifier.
