Doan's fingerprints -- fair or unfair

Just about everybody has seen/heard the infamous Doan fingerprint comment. But there is some debate about whether it is fair... or unfair.

There is a contingent of people, including people inside GSA, who think the attention that the fingerprint comment got is just an indication about her thinking -- she feels like she is a target. In fact, during her hearing, she said as much.

But then there are people who just see it as... well, odd... perhaps over the top... akin to, "I wouldn't have to be so paranoid if everybody wasn't out to get me."

And then there is just a group of people who pretty much just think it is funny. For example, after the Fed 100 gala last week, one person sent me this:

I left my waterglass at the Fed 100. I now realize it has my fingerprints on it. I want that glass and my fingerprints back. Please do not call me paranoid. You know what they do with those things.
