(Off topic: I don't fully understand Vegas. Huge hotels, but I don't get a morning paper -- boo! -- and they charge $20 for each day that I want to use the gym. I guess one is going to pay one way or another. I guess I'll just go to the blackjack table.)Anyway, we are here for a meeting of all of editors. 1105 Media, of course, is the parent company of and .In fact, this is the first time all of the editors have met since we became a much larger organization by adding the former Post Newsweek Tech Media publications, including and .It should be interesting to meet these folks because we as a group cover a wide range of topics. For example, , which joined 1105 Media about the same time we did, has publications ranging from , , and , among others.Like many government agencies, 1105 Media covers a wide range of issues. Some publications are just starting their Web presence, so there will be a lot of idea sharing going on.More as the events continue.

So in recent weeks, I have been to Williamsburg, Va., for IRMCO... Fort Myers, Fla., for FCW's CIO Summit... and now I'm visiting the land of Sodom and Gomorrah.... Yes, it's Las Vegas.

We are here at the Mirage Resort and Casino -- hey, they can gamble here?!? And there is a big statue of Siegfried and Roy right in front of the building. Who knew?

The city is abuzz about a bid by billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian to acquire two of MGM Mirage's largest properties.
