POGO and the Lectern blog 'brought to our attention'
It's an old observation that one advantage to telling the truth is that you don't need to spend time remembering what you said or did before. The inverse is also true.
I had earlier asked POGO in this blog whether we could agree on two procurement policy issues involving buying commercial items, and they had been silent. Now POGO's blog is stating that it was "called to (their) attention" that I had asked them this question.
"Doesn't he realize we're busy?" POGO asked, explaining the failure to respond. (POGO's blog was called to my attention by an e-mail I received -- I've just arrived in Berlin, on my way to South Africa, where a bunch of Kennedy School faculty are doing some work for the South African government.)
In this case, however, POGO's uncertain relationship with the truth, unfortunately for them, is demonstrated by the public record. On April 30, POGO posted a response to two of my posts on this blog, "This blogosphere=fogiesphere?" and "My last post on IG's (for now)." Any reader is welcome to look at these posts themselves. So much for POGO being too busy to check out this blog.
Furthermore, my effort to see if there was something we might agree on followed multiple POGO responses to FCW columns and other writings of mine. I have NEVER known them in the past to be too busy to respond to me.
Sorry, POGO. Wash your mouth out with soap. And by the way, I'm also sorry that you're not willing to look for common ground.
