Joint Forces Command wins architecture award

DOD and AFEI honored individuals and teams involved in DOD enterprise architecture projects.

The Joint Forces Command, J89, has won an award for its Joint Command and Control Architecture Capability Assessment Enterprise at an enterprise architecture conference held in Orlando, Fla.


The conference, hosted by the Defense Department and the Association for Enterprise Integration, was held last week. The DOD Enterprise Architecture Achievement awards program, the first of what organizers hope will become an annual event, chose four winners from 28 nominations.


The command won in the Government Organization category. The other winners were:


* Government Individual: Shawn Spencer, chief of the Future Capabilities Division and Chief Architect at the U.S. Strategic Command.


* Industry Individual: Charles Robinson of Science Applications International for architecture support to the Joint Staff.


* Industry Organization: Booz Allen Hamilton for its work on the Navy Architecture Federation Pilot project.
