Some members of the Federal Salary Council want to revisit standards for making locality pay decisions, Federal Times reports.
Members of the Federal Salary Council said last week that the group may overhaul the way it decides locality pay for federal employees, Federal Times reports.
The council last week turned down a request for higher locality pay from more than 40 cities and counties that employ 138,000 federal workers. But according to the Federal Times report, council members said it is time to revisit the criteria for making decisions on increases in locality pay for federal employees who live in the lowest-paying locality pay zone, dubbed the “rest of the U.S.”
